Tesco Summer Food Collection 2022

One million adults across the UK reported that in the past month, they, or someone in their household went a whole day without eating because they couldn't afford food. 

The food that FareShare supply to charities and community groups across the UK, allow people to access food for free or at a reduced cost. FareShare rely on surplus food being donated by the food industry, but also through public generosity at the annual Tesco Food Collection.

The Tesco food collection took place over the first weekend in July, giving us a much-needed top up of long-life ambient stock for our members. 

Across the UK Tesco customers donated 141 tonnes of food- this equates to 335,258 meals. We would like to thank everyone involved in the collections- Tesco staff, the 655 volunteers and everyone who donated! Every can really does help.
