We continue a full national operation to get food to vulnerable people during the COVID-19 crisis.

New life support signed up with FareShare in July 2020, for the new project Lunchbox Goole.

We provide lunch bags with sandwiches and cooked meals to children and families in Goole using goods from Fareshare. We also provide hampers for people as and when they request a little extra help. We open every lunch time in school holidays and then from 3-5pm on a Tuesday and Thursday during school term times. We can serve meals to anywhere between 20 and 80 individuals every day. Over the last 7 months we are at approximately 3000 meals handed out to families in our area.

Our service would not be able to run without the items we get from Fareshare. The items we receive go into food bags and in meals for children, we do have to top up with items from elsewhere but without the bulk of these coming from Fareshare we would not have been able to run our project and help as many families as we can. At Christmas we gave out 40 hampers using food and funds from Fareshare to bulk these hampers out with food and toys and activities for the family to do together to families across Goole.

Without Fareshare our food bill would be so much higher and some of the quality might have been sacrificed in order to keep within a budget. We can provide meals that are filling and good quality thanks to the food we receive from Fareshare.
